[VIDEO] Strange things...
Uh. Alright. So I've been spending some time in the library, and I had a question for anyone further forward in time than the year 2013:
Do chickens become the dominant species on Earth? And are lizards a major political party? ...Do either of them farm pickles in what is now considered the Middle East?
[She looks mortified to even be asking.]
I swear I have a good reason for asking.
[Pause.]
Also, Godot, I need to speak with you in person at your earliest convenience.
[Yikes, that sounded cold.]

May I ask whose idea it was? Curiosity leads me to wonder whether or not we experienced the same version of events.
[Considering lizards apparently overtake the libertarians, it's not an unreasonable thought.]

[She smiles a bit, though. She actually sounds like she was looking forward to it.]
I was kind of surprised, actually. I guess it doesn't much matter now.
[It absolutely matters now. Kind of.]

[He's said with a quiet little shrug, but it's a sentence he never, ever thought he'd be able to say in this context.]

[All the vitriol from earlier seems to have abated and what's left is just...A very emotionally--and kind of physically--exhausted Mia Fey. Who really is just confused and wants to go to bed.
But, on the other hand, she had been curious how that date would have turned out after reading those case reports.]

[CAPTAIN! THE FLIRT FACTOR HAS BEEN TURNED UP TO MAXIMUM! SIR, THE SYSTEM CAN'T HANDLE THIS SWAGGER!]
I'M GIVIN' IT ALL SHE'S GOT CAPTAIN
[She laughs a little.]
...Think you could excuse another few hours? ...I could use a nap.
[Caffeine or not, she was pooped.]
I CAN DO ZAT! I CAN DO ZAT!
[He knows they may or may not have all the time in the world, but a nap is a perfectly reasonable.]
Either way, I'm glad I brought you half-caff. Calmed you down pretty quick.
[Sure, Godot, it was the coffee that did that.]

[She doesn't really swear a LOT, but this conversation has been an exception. She's laughing as she says it, though.]
I'll...come find you when I wake up.

[He stands, dusts off his pants a bit. Plucks one of the law books out of the pile.]
I'm interested to see what you've uncovered in this... other version of events. Good bedside reading.
[It also makes a lovely coaster for his mug!]

[Because she has told Diego Armando that at least 100 times and she only knew "him" for a few months.]
Check out the ones when we hire that Phoenix Wright kid. He's a trip to read about.
[With that she very gracefully kicks her shoes off and curls up, on top of her covers, still in her day clothes, and gets comfortable. Pajamas are for the weak willed.]

[He steps over the rest of the books, and leans back to get his last word in: ]
Goodnight, kitten.
[And with a click of the latch, he's gone. At least he's not very far.]
