AUDIO - 001
[There is generic sound of movement as the device is shifted around before Link actually speaks. His voice is a bit strained and he sounds exhausted and confused.]
Right. Is this thing on? I think I figured out how to turn it on.
[There is more shuffling.]
I'll just assume it's on. Right. So. How do I put this.
[Link sighs and there is more shuffling.]
You know what? Here. See this? Not to insult anyone's aesthetic or what have you, but why shrunken heads? Behind the toilet? That talk? I mean I've seen some pretty weird things, but...
[Link pauses. There is general silence for a few seconds.]
You know what. Never mind. It's not that odd. I had another question anyway.
[There is more shuffling, followed by a deep breath.]
What is this? I don't know what this is. I mean it looks like a sink but the faucet is too high up and the knobs too low and there's a sink right there anyway. So why is there a second sink in a large box? Is this some sort of weird custom for you? If it is, please, explain. It's odd.
[More shuffling, and the sound of footsteps.]
Also I was wondering where the baths are? I haven't seen one yet. I'd kind of like to bathe at some point. Also, where are my weapons? I want those back. You know just in case something wants to, I don't know, attack me?
You do realize you have monsters in the halls. Disturbing, shuffling, monsters. They kind of look like corpses? So I'd like to have adequate protection. In my general experience monsters don't remain docile.
Actually they're never docile...this whole place is just strange.
[Link moves the device in his hands again. He's mumbling.]
Now how do I turn this--oh. There's no visual. Weird.

Actually I think it made it worse.
[ audio ]
[Kinda.]
I knew a Zelda, but I don't think she was a goddess.
[ audio ]
[She must be a goddess of a distant land or something, Link figured.]
Zelda...didn't really know she was either? She had to go on this purification journey to regain her memories.
I kept just missing her too. That was frustrating.
[ audio ]
Ohh. Did she have amnesia, or something?
[Though the only amnesia Lily has experienced usually comes back in a couple days or so...]
Re: [ audio ]
...it's really complicated.
I'm not sure I understand it all, even.
[ audio ]
Re: [ audio ]
[His head was starting to hurt. This was why he never talked about Zelda and her goddess-thing. It was just too confusing.]
It's more they're the same thing? Her soul is Hylia's, but she was...
[There was a word for this. He knew there was a word for this.]
Ah! Right. She was reborn as Zelda. So she's Hylia, but Zelda...?
Ugh.
This is why I don't talk about it.

Re: [ audio ]
I think.
[Link really should have paid more attention when Zelda was explaining this.]
[ audio ]
[ audio ]
[Zelda was a lot of things.]
She shoved me off of Skyloft once, actually.
[More than once.]
We were best friends. I joined the Knight Academy because she said I should do something with my life instead of lazing around and flying on my Loftwing.
[ audio ]
[ audio ]
[Way to sound like an idiot, dumbass.]
We're training to be Knights to keep the people of Skyloft safe. Children aren't exactly careful and they could fall off the islands and die, especially if they don't have their Loftwing yet.
Well I was training, that kind of got derailed....
[ audio ]
Annnd what's a Loftwing?
[ audio ]
[The thought of the Loftwings reminded Link that he hadn't seen his anywhere.]
[ audio ]
Birds? You fly with birds? Oh Zeshat, that's the coolest thing! I wanna fly! I mean, I had my bee, but she couldn't get too far off the ground...
[ audio ]
[Link sounds like he's in heaven, just thinking about flying.]
The air in your face as you soar through the sky, the feeling of the sun...nothing's compared to flying on my Loftwing.
[He begins to sound a bit sad.]
If I knew where he was I'd show you. He likes to show off.
[ audio ]
Ummm... Link, I'm sorry, but he's probably not here.
[ audio ]
I kind of guessed. Normally I can feel him. The bond between a Loftwing and their rider is something special but I...can't. The last time this happened Groose had trapped him in a cage.
[ audio ]
[ audio ]
How long have you been here?
[ audio ]
[ audio ]
[They'd only just begun setting up life on the surface. Link couldn't be gone for that long!]
[ audio ]
[And now it's gone.]
This ship isn't as nice, but it's my home now, too.
